So the other day things warmed up. Now, as much as I love winter, and I do, I must admit that the first warm night of the year, well that night just fucking rocks. Everything is alive, the streets were practically vibrating with energy. People were outside past midnight just hanging out, it was great.
I took a long walk and listened to Brian Eno. He recorded some really cool albums here(Hamilton) in the eighties. As I walked around I thought about the various samples he may have took in the same places I was exploring and whether or not he treated them or used them in his ambient series.

Definitely gonna have to experiment with this style some more.
As a side note, I only recently got Apollo and Music for Films. Excellent stuff!
Music For Films has some good tracks. A lot of it was experiments made during his "Before and After Science" sessions. Apollo is just a beautiful album. "Deep Blue Day" is probably my second favorite Eno track.
Yeah, "My Life in the Bush with Ghosts" is one of my favorite albums of all time. I especially love the song 'Mea Culpa'. I was lucky enough to hear an old radio session from 1980 where eno played some early experiments from the album and un-used stuff. If I find the link I'll send it to you.
Yeah, Eno's use of environment is one of the reasons why I am attracted to his work.
Well done!
-Spiritwolf.
Cityscapes are fun though, there is something about all the modernist architecture from the 1960's and 70's which has an interesting nostalgia to it. Twilight is my favorite time of day.
