something i thought i'd try doing. Showing you how i work on things; like sketch, outline, and color.
Step 1: Sketch it Out
Here i sketch out the idea or whatever it is i plan on drawing up. In this case here it's Donald. It's Donald from Kingdom Hearts as well, if you couldn't tell or haven't played it.
Step 2: Ink dat ho!
like the title implies, heres where i ink it. This can take me between an hour, till a day or so depending on how large the image is. For starters, i lower the transparency of the sketch layer. That way it's a bit easier to see when i finally outline it.
Step 3: Flat Coloring
first, i color inside the lines a good solid color, while the bg is transparent so that i color in the lines thoroughly. Next i turn the bg back on, which is a darker color. From there i can add in the rest of the basic and essential coloring before i work on the detail.
Step 4: Detail, finally!
Finally, the detailing. I use the base color, and a lighter or darker color for the details and shading. I use the two colors on a newer layer than that of the previous layers. i used different layers for the eyes, tentacles, bill, etc. So it was quite a few layers on this one. after that, i add the final details and i'm done! :D
ALSO, i tend to skip the first layer [to be used for bg's], the second layer for sketch, skip a few layers for the outline, and everything in-between for coloring and details.
so yeah, this is all pretty much how i do things. I'm not calling it a tutorial since everyone does things differently and i don't think there is one specific way to draw or color something.
