"You nervous?" Max asked, working hard to tame his own nerves as he waited next to Simba at the base of the Pride Rock overlook.

"A little." Simba replied as he looked back to Max. Simba seemed so much better at hiding it though. He was born for this though, kingship was in his blood.

This would be their announcement.

A secret romance, started long ago, couldn't be that any longer. With this announcement, the king would be taking a new mate.

Max held no political ambitions so the crown was still firmly on Simba's head, as it should be. He would remain Chief of the Royal Guard and Commander of Prideland defense, keeping Simba and his subjects safe and the crown secure with the true King.

Side by side they ascended to the peak of Pride Rock, ready to tell the world.
