This is an older piece I made back in October. My MLPsona, Diamond Phantasia!

Diamond Phantasia is a unicore mare that is extremely skilled in magical attacks. She is mostly skilled in magical beams and magic shield defense since she was at a school filled with misbehaving ponies that would often attack her because she was a mare that was shy and loved to draw. She's since left that school and graduated in a public school in Ponyville. She knows a dark magic move that can disable a pony's ability to use magic and/or fly depending on their species for a short period of time via dark crystals around their horns/wings (usually for a few hours or more). She only does this as a last resort as the attack is frowned upon in Equestria, especially in the Crystal Palace.

Personality wise, Diamond is shy when you first meet her. Once she warms up to you, she is less shy. She's very quiet and doesn't like talking unless spoken to. Diamond is very caring and would do anything to keep her family and friend safe, even if it costs her life. She is also a bit hot tempered. If she gets angry, it'll be very difficult to calm her down as she doesn't back down from fights easily. She's had ex-friends push her buttons as she tries to leave an argument, leading her to come storming back for round two; this one of many reasons why she doesn't like to back down from fights. Other than that, she's very kind and willing to help others whenever they need her. Diamond also enjoys making ponies laugh and has a strange yet decent sense of humor

Time for the backstory! She and her twin sister were born at a hospital between Canterlot and Ponyville. Her mother, an earth pony named Scarlet Wishes, and her father, a pegasus named Stormy Skies, were shocked that both of their youngest daughters were unicorns and had no idea how to raise them since they've never raised a unicorn before. Luckily, Stormy's sister was a unicorn and was willing to help teach their two daughters how to handle their magic and use it for good. Diamond's parents fought a lot during her foulhood. Scarlet was convinced that Stormy did something to cause their youngest fillies to become unicorns when, in reality, she had no idea it was caused by genetics. Stormy tried his best to convince his wife to listen to him and that it was just genetics, but was unsuccessful each time. Diamond and her twin sister, Violet Shimmer, often witnessed their parents fighting over them and how they should help them handle their magic. Scarlet Wishes wanted to send them to a magic school; Stormy Skies didn't want to do that cause the nearest one was in Canterlot and they would have to move in order for that to happen. Diamond and Violet were going to an elementary school with all races of ponies (along with other races) at the time. Scarlet often neglected to watch over her daughters since she didn't know how to raise two unicorns and Stormy worked at a job involving weather control, leaving both of the two fillies alone without supervision.

Diamond had a nasty temper at school due to her homelife and would often lead her to getting dragged out of class to calm down. She would throw tantrums, scream, bite, and attempt to use her magic in an attempt to make her supervisor go away (which failed). This forced her parents to make her attend a school filled with misbehaved students, who were in worse household lives than her if not the same. She was bullied horrifically mostly for being a shy mare. One day, one of the students, who was a male griffon, attempted to jump Diamond during recess when Diamond fired off an attack spell that caused his wings to be tiny and unusable for the rest of the day. He freaked out, along with the other students and teachers who witnessed her attack. She earned her cutie mark that day and didn't notice until she got home. This unfortunately didn't stop the bullying. Scarlet Wishes freaked out upon hearing the story and was blamed Stormy Skies for teaching her the move when he had no idea where or how she knew it. When Scarlet called Diamond a "dark magic wannabe" and called all unicorns evil and wicked, Stormy snapped and screamed that he had enough and was filling a divorce on her for her coldhearted nature.

Scarlet Wishes was kicked out of the house and was prohibited to be on the property no matter what. Diamond later learned the dark crystal spell from a book hidden in the school she was in during 7th grade and used it on a bully, who was a pegasus, causing his wings to be covered in dark crystals and unable to fly away. Instead of freaking out, he attacked Diamond in a fit of rage. Diamond was able to defend herself using a shield attack from the same book she found. She was finally able to attend the middle school when she was in 8th grade; she unfortunately still has flashbacks from her days in the school and has nightmares about being forced to attend that school despite graduating years prior. When she graduated, she made many friends with her high school classmates and would hang out with them whenever she and Violet could. Things were perfect until one fateful day.

One cold and rainy day, Diamond was frustrated about her dog escaping and unable to get her back. Her best friend at the time, a unicorn named Moon Shadow, tried to help her with the situation but was unsuccessful due to Diamond's stubborness. Moon thought she was being disrespectful towards the dog (when she didn't mean to) and got snippy, calling Diamond coldhearted Diamond snapped and yelled at Moon that she wasn't trying to be mean and to stop. Moon decided to bail on her while saying "I guess I can't be helpful to anyone". Diamond, realizing her mistake, tried to apologize but was stopped by her friend group. They immediately jumped on her saying "Nice going, Diamond!" and "Look what you just did!" while Diamond tried explaining that she didn't mean to, but to no avail. Moon's boyfriend, a pegasus named Swift Wind, got in her face and yelled at her despide Diamond not liking it when anyone gets in her face. Diamond tried to tell him to back off but he stood his ground and kept yelling. She had enough and attempted to levitate him away from her, but she accidentally used her cursed dark crystal attack on his wings and made them unusable. Swift Wind let out a panicked cry loud enough to get Moon Shadow's attention. Moon found Swift Wind panicking and immediately knocked Diamond in a infuriated rage and screamed at her, calling her a monster and that she never should've trusted someone like her. Diamond knocked her off and tried to explain that it was an accident and that she didn't mean to, but Moon didn't listen and fired a magical attack at her. They fought until Violet tackled Moon to the ground and told Diamond to run. Diamond ran for her life as the rest of the friend group ran after her. She fortunately managed to get away and get home safely. Violet came back to the house beaten and bruised, but alive. Diamond decided to run away so that if Moon were to report her to the authorities, she'd be long gone and unable to be found. She packed her laptop, sketchbooks, pencils, medicine, and other valuable items. She wrote a note explaining her reason for leaving and fled Ponyville. She began losing faith in friendship as soon as she left the area...
