[DM-note: This character is intended as NPC - specifically for moments where survival of the player characters is rather unlikely. The idea is to facilitate them going out in a legendary blaze of glory that following generations will tell tales about. Use him wisely.]
Name: Unknown. Any name he may have had has long since been lost to time.
Favored Weapon: Longsword
Domain: Time and dying hope
House: none
Clan: Unknown. His build and occupation seem to imply affiliation with the Stoneclaws, but neither his predominant fur color, nor his personality support this. If his fur color is any indication, it might be Honeypaw (dark brown with grey patches due to age), while his personality sits somewhere between scholar and mystic and therefore implies Bronzehide and Seafang respectively.
Family: None recorded throughout history. (Altho Followers of the Forgotten, otherwise known as Nameless, take up the path of a Kensai to honor their patron).
Relics: The Banner of Bjarnagar (ragged banner that had last been seen the Age of Legends and is believed lost during a desperate last stand of Uldrin forces, anyone finding it or looking upon its likeness receives a moral boost), The Eternal Blade (An ancient longsword without adornment, reminiscent of weapons used by regular soldiers during the Age of Legends - but unlike those artifacts, this blade appears untouched by the ravages of wear and time.), Potions of Jarsil (healing potions which when used on others by him reverse recent injury, to the inclusion of death itself. Recorded history only lists two uses of these potions in the last 3.000 years)
Lore. By Will alone does the forgotten live on. Untouched by time and death (Zmir) seems to stay his hand in regards to this lone warrior. During the Age of legend there were many warriors and brave individuals who went above and beyond to help stay the undead plague washing over the land. He was one amongst many who slipped by the wayside of history. There are no records of him, save for rumor, there is no mention of his name, even his banner has faded by time. Yet he still persists. Known Only as the Forgotten or Un-named one. This individual has only come to the attention of the Uldrin people thanks largely in part to recent events uncovering long forgotten tomes mentioning a warrior seen on the battlefield performing heroic deeds but never staying for the aftermath. In fact witness accounts claim this being to have vanished without a trace once the battle was won. Beyond this there is very little in the way of recorded history and yet this figure has generated a lot of speculation and attention recently, With frustratingly little being revealed. (Note, the likelihood of the Forgotten to appear during a campaign or encounter is very slim. Depending on various contributing factors, usually when an Uldrin is in the party, if the battle is heavily in the enemies favor or things are so dire that the story, plot, DM deems it necessary *(use your own discretion)*, otherwise, there is a very small <0.1% chance he will appear during an encounter at random.)
Spells: None. Instead he draws magical energy into himself to manifest a number of unique abilities
1. Untouched by Time (passive): Immunity to any effect over time - both harmful and beneficial.
2. Preternatural Reflexes (passive): The result of any saving throw against harmful effects is doubled before an effect is applied. In addition, the effect of Uncanny Dodge also takes effect if applicable, without it costing a reaction.
3.Weave of Steel (reaction): In a dazzling display of swordsmanship belying the size and weight of his blade, a melee attack that would hit the Forgotten is not only harmlessly deflected away from him, but if he so wishes he can actively direct it towards another hostile target within range.
4. Fury of Bjarnagar (action): Planting the banner in the ground unleashes a violent explosion of light, which outright annihilates any lesser undead or fiend within 100ft. Higher undead and friends take 10d10 radiant damage (Constitution save DC18, halved damage on a success) and are physically hurled 90ft away from the banner. In addition, planting the banner creates a sanctuary of the same diameter (100ft), within 100ft of the banner Allies are granted advantage on wisdom saves and death saving throws, regain max health from any healing, deal extra 1d4 radiant damage with weapon attacks, And lastly creatures within 50ft of the banner have disadvantage on attack rolls, and cannot approach 20ft of the banner due to its intense aura. The Banner and its effects last as long as the Forgotten remains in the encounter. If the banner is destroyed or the Forgotten is defeated, the effect ends.
5. Victory denied (passive): If the Forgotten is reduced to 0HP, he does not die. Instead he is instantly revived with 50% of his HP. If reduced to 0HP again, he and his equipment including the banner disappear in another equally violent explosion of light - in the wake of which a mocking remark from him (to the effect of “Nice try.”) fills the air, followed by his laughter.
Armor: Unarmored Defense (Wis), AC+3
Order of the Unnamed: Outcasts who feel uncomfortable with the current government, or law, and while they are not outlaws, they are vigilantes, following his example, and therefore the Order of the Unnamed is established, a group of Uldrin who fall by the wayside, follow no one and do as they feel is best in order to go above and beyond for the safety of their realm. These lone warriors follow His example discarding their birth names, train diligently in the ways of the Kensei, and often do what the law cannot. (which is often expected of the main group to do but even they have rules to the exception sometimes. clans, houses, and morals permit.
In Relationship with the Ancestors and the Uldrin people:
In the past while they were alive The other ancestors were not aware of the forgotten or his actions, they may have heard rumors of some deeds of some heroic individual but due to time and circumstance were never able to do anything about it. Undead plague the land and there wasn't much opportunity to go investigating.
In present day Uldra, the ancestors are aware of his existence now that they are pseudo-divine beings encased in crystal and stone. The majority of them accept him but still regard the forgotten and his band as renegades. Watching him closely.
Notable Ancestors to whom the Forgotten have had interactions with are Jarsil and Loric.
Jarsil remembers trading potions with the Forgotten, one of witch can raise the recently dead back to life (This often attracts Zmir's attention who inquires why he was dabbling in his affairs, the interaction can be tenuous at best but always results in the two agreeing its for the best.)
The forgotten got his blade from Loric, who (despite the title) always remembers his handiwork. Even if the blade does not bear his mark, Loric knows that the weapon the Forgotten wields is one of his.
Zmir does not interfere with him for some odd reason. it's like. He sees the necessity in him, but is also indifferent to his plight. (if there ever was one). As far as balance is concerned, the goals of the two are in alignment. Zmir occasionally inquires whenever the Forgotten interferes when he comes for a fallen soldier or a brave individual who has performed beyond measure on the battlefield. But otherwise the two seem to get along. It is often speculated that Zmir Intentionally does not take the forgotten, as he sees him deserving of this timeless life to make up for the fact that this nameless warrior, was well, Forgotten at the time of their (the ancestors) being entombed into the runes.
