It's similar to a GC drive except for the internal plate arrangement: this one doesn't have any capability for reverse emission nor lateral vectoring, it's specialized in accelerating a small projectile at high velocity through an extended gravitational channel.
The projectile starts off at the last "canopy" segment, the channel needs free space in both directions though.
