(Original Charmer here for any newcomers: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35594576/ )
In her youth, Debbie Burns aka Charmer was still a novice witch learning about the bigger world of magic, both good and evil to the world. And one of those evils was her adversary Elysia, the Illustrious. ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/42667736/ ) The tigress used the powers of the Eye of Artukar, a magical pendant that fed off the lifeforce of others to grant the holder magical mastery, to commit crimes while exploiting her stage fame, all while she and Charmer feuded in secret. After one such incident, however, Charmer had slipped up and revealed her identity to Elysia. Now her enemy had a name, and with it came many potential targets to her revenge against the interfering rabbit.
Charmer was worried about who it would be. Her friend, Violet or Jasmine, also the heroic pair of Duplica and Racing Stripe, ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39070272/ https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39070300/ ) or any other number of loved ones she had. In the end, however, Elysia struck the one most vulnerable place: the heart. She captured and killed Debbie's father, leaving his corpse as a warning for her to stay away and never get in her way again.
Debbie was broken. She felt weak and useless to have done anything when she should have. But that guilt soon became fuel for a new feeling: retribution.
When Charmer found Elysia yet again, she came with the knowledge, skills, and help from her closest allies, to finally bring her down. After the tigress was defeated, Charmer took the eye of Artukar and, out of anger and sadness, gave it another victim: Elysia herself. Despite her friends' objections, she fed her enemy's lifeforce to the amulet, and through it was awoken to newer, deeper, and more powerful spells and abilities. For Debbie, it became a doorway to attaining what she should have had to save her father: power.
The cost of the power, however, required a constant source of energy to be fed to the Eye. Knowing magic was a suitable source, Debbie began to seek out others with magical properties and take theirs, regardless of their agreement or not. Some were heroes like Power Maiden and her magic ring ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35460056/ ), whereas others were less reputable sorts, like the Sea Master and his magical spear and braces that controlled all bodies of water. ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35165748/ ) And others were also smaller acts of revenge on those who had beaten Charmer in the past, including the notorious Artificer ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/43438872/ ) Each victory granted new powers, new spells, and further knowledge into the arcane arts. And yet the Eye still hungered. Debbie knew she needed a more permanant source.
In her studies into the darker, more ancient realms of magic, Debbie had come across passages of a god-like creature known as the Dream Lord. ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39522231/ ) Having the powers of a being like that would keep the Eye satiated for all time. However, when she summoned the demon he proved stronger than she imagined. The encounter ended in defeat, and Debbie was lucky to have escaped with her life. More power was needed, and only one hero she was aware of had ever managed to best the Dream Lord with her abilities: Purity (https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6208894/ )
Initially, Debbie explained her need for Purity's power and her "good cause" to ensure no one else would die because she was too weak. When Purity refused, seeing the dark path it would take her, Debbie could not-would not-accept the answer. They fought and, in the end, Charmer was victorious but Purity's life was taken as a means of ensuring and holding the ancient power that flowed through her body. The world lost a hero, and even as Charmer summoned the Dream Lord again, ensuring victory this time, the rest of the heroic community now saw her as a great threat.
Heroes, and even some villains, formed an alliance against Charmer. All fought bravely, but none succeeded. Some lost their lives in the process. Debbie's mind had become warped by the power and influence of the Eye of Artukar, seeing any that stood against her as enemies to her and the world she wanted to protect. But one rose to be her ally, the Vampire Lord Radmoir. ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35623354/ ) Familiar with her exploits, Radmoir proposed an alliance in exchange for Debbie's help in securing lands for him to conquer and hold for his own, wanting to create a new race of his kind to rule. She agreed, and together they held the power to control legions of undead warriors (and slain heroes) along with demonic spawn summoned from the darker depths of hell. The survivors of the resistance were outmatched.
Fate, however, soon intervened with the arrival of the drakonian space prince Karnathrax ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28395799/ ) The space lord was furious for the death of his friend and lover, Purity, and sought revenge by taking the head of the one who slew her. With an army of his kind at his back, and the resistance survivors as his allies, Karn went to war with Charmer and Radmoir's undead forces in a battle that spanned more than half the planet. The cost grew great for both sides, but in the end Charmer, through luck and intervention of Radmoir's faithful servant, the Harem Keeper ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/35623428/ ) , Karn was defeated and kept as a prisoner by Charmer to ensure his people never returned to Earth. Her final and ultimate victory was granted. And with her world secured by powerful hexes, an army of undead and her command, and a powerful space dragon as her prisoner, Charmer had no further use for Radmoir other than more fuel to add to her ever-growing, powerful fire.
Despite her "victories", Charmer knew this was not the way the world should have been. She knew in the end she failed, but she needed to do better. Somehow, she had to make things right. Now in her solitude, she studies any means of fixing the world. Time travel? The powers of all the gods in exsistance? Or perhaps the answers lie beyond her reality to one still....young.
