Truth be told, it was Ban’s character design that first piqued my interest in checking out the series (I guess you could say I have a type when it comes to anime anti-heroes 🤪) and at first I was completely enthralled by the show’s Arthurian setting, its colorfully mature aesthetics, and its intrigue surrounding the struggle between good and evil. And thanks to Ban drinking from the Fountain of Youth, I knew I could always count on my favorite character to show up again no matter how bad a beating he suffered! Unfortunately, I found my fondness of the series waning as the seasons went along, but I at least enjoyed every minute of screen time given to Ban (enough so that I’m considering returning to watch its final season—just for the story, of course! Not just for svelte muscle men in skimpy outfits, certainly not). So while even though avarice may be sinful, this feisty foxtaur can steal my heart any day—and then some 😳
