Well... seems in the end even Galanos was just another pawn. "Decuir" played everyone like a damn fiddle, and now i'm really getting some truly sinister "Samaritan" vibes from this elusive manipulator.
Since Terra clearly carried on after Galanos' demise with hardly a hitch, was there ever really a third player on the board? Or was it always just some deeply hidden facet of Terra's power hierarchy, that is only now beginning to let slip traces of its existence?

In my canon, this character is a third player, nobody knows where he came from. I'm going to be playing around with him a lot in my second book. Don't know if it will be the same way for Alex's canon (this is the end of the story and I now know nothing more than you do), but in my world he essentially plays both sides.
Thanks for clarifying that bit of confusion. Clearly, MERVAS really needs to get a move on with either destroying, or subverting and subsuming Terra; as they're now just a secondary threat without their mad genius at the helm.
The two names dropped in the call are interesting... I can't find much of anything on Yarlon as a name or a word. But the name he seems to identify as, Shailen, is according to Google, a male Hindi name meaning "King of Mountains."

Both Yarlon and Shailen are my characters. Yarlon Derod is the CEO of Terra Corp / Terra Robotics with a massive chip on his shoulder over MERVAS, because his company originally funded the AI research that would eventually "disappear" and end up in Celdon Mervas's hands (the original organic creator of MERVAS as a whole), so he believes he rightfully owns MERVAS. Shailen, on the other hand, is a lot more complex. There's a post in my scraps with an image of him and some info, if you're curious. :D
Ah, i recall now, seeing mentions here and there of Terra's vindictive CEO; just never committed their name to memory so i didn't make the connection here...
And it looks like Shailen is an even nastier piece of work than i had previously thought. From what you've posted about him, i can see how he sort of qualifies as an Anti-Villain; but it also sounds like he's really riding the edge of that term.

He's an anti-villain on my end at least, I'm not sure what Alex has planned for Shailen on his end. I'll definitely encourage him and challenge him to keep Shailen as close to an anti-villain as possible, considering I don't think Alex has really done that before, unless you count Drez. However, Drez's case was different, as he's a protagonist that temporarily became an antagonist. Shailen would be the opposite, an identifiable antagonist who has some positive qualities.
