CCCXIV: In the Eye of the Begoated

When I first tried laying out this page, it felt like things in this section of the chapter weren’t flowing as smoothly as they should. The emotional weight was being drowned out by the rapidly shifting events. At the very last possible minute, I thought about trying to rewrite the script for this page to show it from Cass’ perspective.

That brought its own challenges, the largest being the need to fit extra panels on the page to step through each thought and movement Cass has. The POV concept ultimately solved itself: keeping all of the panels the same size helped to sell the experience of seeing a consistent stream of events through Cass’ eyes. So I just arranged a grid and went about plugging the story beats into each of them.
