Here's another classic comic strip (Circa 1996) I'd drawn for the funny animal APAzine "Rowrbrazzle".
During the sixteen-plus years I'd been living in south Florida, I have yet to hold on to a full-time position for more than three whole years. I've been in and out of work so often, the job center ought to install a revolving door just for me!
With that in mind, I'd drawn a comic depiction of the bobcat going to Personnel, in the hope of landing a gig. (Notice I didn't say 'Human Resources' - as there's nothing really 'human' about them.) First impressions in applying for work are very important. But when a representative, played by a vixen in a beehive hairdo, coaxes the attitude out of my bobcat 'fursona', you'll understand why I've had so many different jobs in the past, why I'd lost them, and why it's getting harder and harder to land any vocation these days...

Thanks for the 'feedback', Bruno.
The vixen's 'take' was inspired by reactions in some "Archie" comic books, while the bobcat's bloodshot eyes were inspired by some Chuck Jones characters in specific Warner Bros. cartoons. When I'd first posted this particular strip in "Rowrbrazzle" (back in '96), one of the people - outside of the APAzine - who loved the vixen's reaction, was anthroartist Melody Rondeau of San Jose, CA. I hope I can get her to join "Fur Affinity" one of these days.

I wonder if the folks at "Fur Affinity" are hiring proofreaders? I have seen so many spelling errors by its members (so you're not alone, Kira), it's a wonder they're not hiring one now! (TRUE STORY: I once tried to apply for a proofreading position in Miami, back in the 1990s, but I'd failed their 'vocabulary test'. I still felt that they should've hired me anyway, because I'd found three typographical errors on their job application!)
Woah. Good way to get Security called on the cat's stubby tail. I can relate to the cat's angst though as it seems like folks over fifty are shunned in the Jobs market. Still, I'd recommend a more subtle approach. First explain calmly why the cat is feeling the stresses he's been dealing with, then thank the lady for her time. If the cat can leave with a good impression, The interviewer might be more inclined to put his Ap and Resume on the "Consider" stack.
Well, what really makes me angry is having to fill out those job applications - especially the section on 'previous experience', which takes longer to fill out (when you consider how many different jobs I'd held over the last 35 years). And some places hold my job app for as long as one year, while other places only hold on to it for just 30 days... which means I have to come back one month later, and waste another hour of my life to fill out a form for a job I'm not going to get!
