She's from Sarawyn. By marrying off to Drayven she will still be Queen but is joining a Patriachrial-Kingdom meaning Drayven will have all the power and she will be severely limited.

That's what I thought. Being a queen would be in title only.

Seems to me the logical thing would be to agree to only marry Drayven if there was a formal agreement that, out of tradition for the Matriarchy, Kibs would still be Queen, in charge of Sarawyn, and hold power equal to and independent of King Drayven.
Similar to a husband and wife still each having jobs and their own financial accounts.
Both sides want this marriage to happen, so it’s a good bargaining chip.
Of course, I can see King Alphonse or Drayven agreeing to that, or sticking to the agreement. I doubt he would accept his wife being a ruler in her own right.
And then there’s all the other machinations happening. Alphonse is not going to stop his plans just because of some agreement. Once she’s in their clutches, there’s not much she can do.
