Let's see, what happened to our heroes. During their fight, the flight feathers got scorched badly, so the raven is unable to fly for now. The rat got burned his front paw, so he is unable to do his clever tinkering with objects. They made a truce till they are dependent on each other for their survival.
Together they made the ship waterproof with tar, or they hope they did. The fungi and time works against them. But they need some rest and they can figure out what to do later. They will need food, and find a land.
