yet another character design thing from me! this here's the cloaked wanderer -- she doesn't have a name nor a purpose, nor does she need one. she wanders the world aimlessly, just because she can. she's a very mysterious character who prefers to be only a passing thought in the lives of others. though, with that axe on her belt, she can certainly be the end of the lives of others who threaten hers. i'm pretty happy with her design, though i wanna add some spice to her cloak. i played around with some ideas but couldn't find anything i liked, so i'll probably eventually come back to that. this was my initial idea, so i'll probably do a traditional ref, including what she's got in her bag and a close-up of her axe.

she's going to be the protagonist of a new series i'm workshopping, likely to be called New World. unlike the other stories in my head, this one will have no driving narrative. instead, it'll be a series of scenery drawings, following this featureless girl as she explores the world she's found herself in. it's actually inspired by minecraft and especially the 1.19 concept art, so i'll take a lot of inspiration from the world of minecraft while adding my own spice to the mix. on top of that, i might link a song from the ost to each piece.

last thing to note, i'm going to try to get experimental with the style of this series. since it'll be a lot of landscape pictures, i might try and do some more painty techniques, or try and go lineless. i might even go for a blocky looking world, just to further cement that this is a love letter to minecraft's landscape and aesthetic. maybe it'll just straight up take place in minecraft, working with its gameplay mechanics to show off its world! who knows? it'll be very fun to play around as i go along! i hope you look forward to it!
