The Tapirunner is a mid-sized herbivore native to the southern grasslands of Elysium. They are one of the most common mammalian plant-eaters of this part of the world. They travel in herds of around 20-30 individuals, mostly consisting of a dominant male and his harem of females and their young.
To those predators that are able to chase down and catch them, Tapirunners are one of the most favored prey due to their ideal size (not too big and not too small). That is, however, not an easy task. Tapirunners are very alert creatures and, as their name implies, excellent runners, reaching speeds of up to 70 km/h.
If faced by a smaller predator, something human-sized for example, they are more than capable of fighting back with powerful kicks and bites.
