I wanted to make a new wallpaper for my phone and realized I haven't posted a single dragon since... years, I can't even recall when!
This guy's from back when I was still a wee lil' teenager writing high fantasy. In those stories he's a god responsible for creating, guiding, and eventually undoing all souls on Noi. Back then the planet was orbited by four moons, each a home to a god - the white moon of Ari, blue moon of Eia, red moon of Ora, and silver moon of our boi I’taru.
I’taru is a god of many roles - he started out as the god of souls, weaving together the strings of the universe to create the cores of each thinking being roaming Noi’s surface. His father ruled over the lands of the End, the souls’ final rest before being un-woven - a job once held by his mother and taken on by him after her untimely death. May as well, he’d thought. What he can create, he can destroy also.
I’taru had a younger brother, Ari, whom had willed Noi together and whom served as the guide of all souls on its surface - a role I’taru would bitterly inherit as well.
Long ago, when he was yet to be the god of anything, he tried his hand in shaping life. His creation was a being not too different from you and I, and he’d hoped to one day bring them down to Noi. What stopped him was a strange vessel from the stars, which landed squarely on the planet and proceeded to pour out humans. They’d go on to settle the entire planet and millennia later came to worship him as their main god. I’taru would end up sealing the essence of his creation into a crystal and fully take on the role of god over these new people.
The crystal was eventually stolen and the essence within wound up infecting the thief, changing them ever so slightly, passing on to their children and to every generation that followed. Their descendants regard I’taru as their creator god.
_____
I could go into much more detail about him, but I've already stretched myself to the limits of how brief I can be. :I
