Roland was chosen from birth to join the Order Hir of the kingdom Quant. The Order of Hir is an ancient sect that looks for signs and omens of both good and bad towards the future and does what it can to stop the bad and help the good, that is until the reckoning. Very few of this ancient order survived the reckoning and fewer still survived it with their soul in tact, but that is a tail for another time. Selected and trained in history, war, combat, philosophy, and the sciences a member of the Order Hir is marked by the black stains on their body. Still considered knights and widely trusted by all who know him Roland was away from Quan when the Order Hir fell and now wonders the lands looking for a purpose in life. He makes small amounts of money by taking on odd jobs such as protector, or body guard, or even in a few cases trained a towns militia and town guard to be real fighters and not farmers with swords.
Roland finds himself these days in the lumber jack communities along the Grrel forest.
