wielder, I hope you can forgive me for borrowing your character. c.c; Doodled this up while I was eating lunch today. There are a number of things about it I'm not happy with, but the headfolk demanded I draw it. u.u Theoretical pic, a "What if Wielder happened to stop by Lemoria at some point during the clone wars?" This would be before Order 66 and the Purges. Zanny would have been about eleven or twelve at that point. Not entirely sure what's going on, but I can guess. Please pardon the liberties I'm taking here...~~~~~~
"Finally took another Padawan, eh Thorodin?"
The grizzled male wolf folded his ears back. "Of course not," he countered, though there was little force to his words. "This isn't Coruscant or the Temple. Training Zannah was a personal favor to her father."
Weilder turned toward the girl. She was white furred, a mop of black hair caught back in a long braid in an attempt to tame it. Little more than a youngling, the kid was somewhere between scrawny and gangly, yet to hit her final growth spurt. The young vixen had stayed quiet thus far, though she observed everything through intelligent brown eyes. Weilder reached out a hand to tip her chin up.
"Huh. Cute. I forgot Aerion Lyles had a kid. I do remember the Council kicked up a minor fuss when he refused to turn her over to be trained."
Young Zannah jerked her head away, ears going flat. "I am not cute," she retorted with all the aggrieved dignity and seriousness her childish frame possessed. "I didn't want to go to some stupid temple anyway." Behind them, Thorodin gave a long-suffering sigh.
"Zannah, manners," he reminded the girl in a tone that said he had been dealing with similar outbursts for quite some time. Wielder just smirked.

Wow, thanks so much, Zannah. You make Wielder totally hot! The body language is amazing in this one, and I love the smooth movement you capture in everything you do. The little blurb you wrote is very appropriate and makes me smile.
Thanks so much, I truly appreciate it. I'm honored by it.

*lol* You're welcome. It's been fun watching you post pieces and figuring out where my own characters would fit into things in that version of the SW universe. I don't usually get to explore this particular part of my character's life, though it's all been in the back of my head for years. I enjoyed drawing it, and I'm glad you like it. =)
Indeed, you did. One thing that sets your art apart from a *lot* of the art here is the proper proportions in the limbs, torso, etc. No legs so thin they'd snap under their own weight in real life, and no giant arms the size of tree trunks. @.@ Not that non-humanoid-proportional pictures aren't bad. It's just that it adds a lot of authenticity to form.
Wielder had better watch out, though. They don't call them "pint-sized powerhouses" for nothing!

*lol* Well, I learned to draw from life, so I actually have a hard time making things stylized. It just looks wrong to me. That's not to say my anatomy's perfect. Far from it. But I do strive for that level of realism, even if I don't always hit the mark.
Oh, I don't think Wielder has much to fear from Zanny at that age. *chuckles*

It's not now she has to worry about, oh no. She has to worry about *later*. @.@ I see a possible outcome: Zanny grows up somewhat, yes, but retains and/or develops an awesomesauce, stinging wit that rivals Obi-Wans. Stick them in a room together then and see what happens. :>
Drawing from life is awesome, and it does lend itself to realism. Sadly, the only model I have here is...me. Holding a pose and a sketchpad at the same time just doesn't work...and I've not the nerve to ask people around campus to pose ;_;

*chuckles* Well, she doesn't think she's terribly witty as an adult, but she gets along all right.
And actually, one thing that can help your drawing immensely without actually having to ask people to model for you is to do gesture drawing. Sit somewhere you can watch people, and do quick, messy sketches designed to *just* capture a pose or position. Don't spend more than 30-60 seconds on a sketch. They won't look like much, but the more you do, you'll begin to realize you're starting to get a feel for body language, and capturing the form in motion. This is something I really need to do more often myself. Maybe I'll go draw people in the park tomorrow.

I still have the first 30 or so gesture drawings we did from my first Art class. 10 of them are in my 8x11.5in sketchbook, which I cherish. (It has all my 'homework' art for that class.) The other 20 are on 18x24in sheets!
It was fun, but I never really had time to do it. Maybe next day at work...er, which is tomorrow...I'll bring my sketchbook with me, that'd be awesome. So long as I don't get sued or something for using someone's likeliness. "YOUR HONOR, THAT SCRIBBLE IS *OBVIOUSLY* MY NOSE!" "...I fail to see the resemblance."
