This is what becomes of loose paper when I am practicing penstrokes, faces, making weird critters, on drugs, off drugs, early for my shrink appointment, after my shrink appointment, over my head in deadlines, have indigestion or need to urinate. Everything here's copyright Berbalang. Even the crappy stuff. ESPECIALLY the crappy stuff. Nyah.

This is the most jam-packed sketch-page I've ever seen. Those brushstrokes remind me of early 20th century children's illustration. I've also got a book on pen and ink by some guy called Arthur Guptill (I think that's right) with examples in a similar style. If you dont have it you might like the stuff in it.
Booth was the Howard Pyle of his era. Influenced a generation with his art and his teaching. More than a generation, really, considering louts like me are still copping from him.
Two books on Booth:
Franklin Booth: Painter with a Pen by John Fleskes (out of print)
and
Franklin Book: American Illustrator by Manuel Auad.

Wrinkleball GOOD. Also the title of Neil Young's next album.
Most of the junk on this page is done with a Pigma Micron .005 disposable pen, in an attempt to ape the inkwork of inkmaster Franklin Booth. The head shots were done with ballpoint pen.
If I inspire you to hit de pen, that makes me happy. You kick me to get mine ass back to pencil.
