Ah, yes, the she-devil herself. I first saw red Sonja reading an old 1970s or so comic of her once in the 1980s, as a teenage boy. She became my first ever sexy, beautiful, strong badass crush in fiction.

Cartoon crushes are probably the cause of a lot folks becoming anthro fans.

Actually, i don't think i ever saw that movie. i was an REH fan as a teenager - read everything in print from him - sought out some obscure small press editions, etc - The Conan movie was an insult to the original stories, and Marvel's Red Sonja wasn't anything like REH's Red Sonja - Marvel based their character on REH's Black Agnes . And, as i recall, both were set in the times of the crusades, not the Hyborean age. It's like the Tarzan films - in the books Tarzan spoke English, French, Swahili, and a number of other languages, was a member of The House Of Lords, King of an African tribe, and could tear your throat out with his teeth. So i'm not a fan of how Hollywood treated REH or ERB's characters.

Red Shetland was obviously the original, but the government has shut down all legal cases lest it come out in court that there have long been time travel experiments conducted at Miskatonic University. Lovecraft tried to warn us.

Going 'over the top' seemed appropriate as Sonja was on the verge of going over her top here.
