I like the concept. I don't know if you're looking for critique or suggestions (some people want that and some don't), so I'll just say I enjoyed reading it. :)

I'm always open to suggestions for improvement.

Okay. The two things I noticed were that I wanted the sailor to have a name, to make him more personal, and that although there was a lot of detail in the first two-thirds about the storm and the ship going down, the last couple of paragraphs of the story felt kind of rushed to me. I wanted to have more detail about the orca and the connection he feels with it.

And, of course, I'm curious about what happens next...
