How long do you suppose it takes him to apply that, you know, that skull makeup anyway?
Helms:
Probably a lot longer than it took him to win this match. Well coming up later tonight we've go -
[Arena lights darken]
Crowd:
(Perks up)
Quest:

Helms:

["Heaven" begins playing]
Crowd:

[Otherworldly bell sounds from the distance]
Quest:

Helms:
Good lord, what a shotgun dropkick to Fantasma, he's got no idea what's happening and neither do I!
Quest:
Nyra and Fantasma! Nyra and Fantasma! Angel Fantasma needs to gather himself NOW!
Crowd:
Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!
Helms:
Nyra charging at Fantasma - Angel with the hip toss - Nyra landing on his feet, unreal!
Quest:
Holy f - what a kick! Fantasma is rocked!
Helms:
I still don't understand what's going on here, i-is this a match?! And who's that other...other individual in the ring?
Quest:
Nyra, the Spirit of Violence from the East, here in the flesh with his personal enforcer - oh!
Helms:
This...Nyra just missing with that double stomp, jumping over the sweep kick from Fantasma...Angel ducking the roundhou - oh, caught with another on the back end, Fantasma hasn't been able to get out of the gates since this...this 'match' began!
Quest:
Fantasma being smart, rolling out of the ring, giving himself a breather.
Helms:
But look out behind him, Nyra sprinting to the ropes...!
Quest:

Helms:
No! Fantasma dodged - and my god, Nyra landing on his feet again!
Quest:

Helms:
Nyra with that front flip all the way to the outside of the ring as Angel was moving out of the way and landed on his...god damn feet!
Quest:
Angel getting back into the ring, Nyra glaring at him from over his shoulder - look at that face! How often is it that Fantasma isn't the scariest looking guy here?
Angel Fantasma (Beckoning to Nyra):
Tráelo, perra!
Quest:
The Angel of the Southern Sky wants more!
Helms:
My god, Nyra leaping right into the ring from the floor! Angel coming at him, Nyra ducks the lariat, Angel off the ropes, Nyra with the toss - Oh!
Quest:
Fantasma with one-for-one, landing on his feet - HUELGO DEL MUERTO!
Crowd:
(Explodes)
Helms:
Angel with the Huelgo Del Muerto wheel kick! The cover!
The Judgment:

Quest:
A kickout at one?!
Helms:
Angel hit Nyra with his best shot, and...
Quest:
...And the Murder Demon kicked out at one! But I think...that might be the first time anyone's even scored a pin attempt on Nyra!
Helms:
Nyra already back to his feet! And - look at Angel, connecting with the drop kick, just to keep Nyra down. And now Fantasma, poised in the corner, loading up with something...Nyra back to his feet, Fantasma taking off after him - OH!!!
Quest:
Holy sh - Heartstopper! To a standing Fantasma my god...!
Helms:
Nyra with that double stomp to the chest, crushing Angel into the mat right out of a sprint, my god, I've never seen anything like...here's the count!
The Judgment:
ONE. TWO. THREE.
[Unearthly bell rings]
Quest:
...Wow.
(Music fades out)
The Judgement:
(Points solemnly at Nyra)
[Lights dim]

Thanks for listening, I'd always wished this one got some more feedback. I suppose the progression does kind of have a similar vibe to At Doom's Gate as you mentioned, I never really considered that. That said, the actual inspirations are Akuma's theme from SSTII (I've taken a LOT of inspiration from Akuma's various themes) and a little bit of the boss music from the original Shadow Warrior, "Shadow Raver." I wanted it to feel like an appropriate song for a character who is, essentially, like a secret character in a video game, an encounter that's very intense, and ludicrously difficult, something that says "This is the fight of your life."

Oh nice! I never considered Akuma! I can hear the inspiration from Shadow Raver certainly, especially in regards to its fast section. I also personally feel a bit of nostalgia for that "secret super-difficult video game character" feeling. They don't really make secret characters anymore.
