I got my laptop to behave long enough to make this, so here's a taste of Sunny and Midnight Astra's past.

On the day they escaped their Master's home to leave for the mortal world, they had a chance run in with said Master- Astaroth from Soul Calibur.

... Don't look at me; Majorkira6 dreamed all this up!

Astaroth made it no secret that he grew bored of tormenting Solana and Selena long ago. And was itching for an excuse to finally stop screwing around with the sisters and kill them. An excuse that, as he told them, they just hand-delivered to him on a silver platter.

So as a "final reward for a job well done," Astaroth offered to cleave the Orthros in half with his axe, "giving the sisters a brief experience of life apart before they died."

What he didn't expect was what happened next when his axe came down. Somehow, the scrawny hellhound managed to catch his axe by the head in one hand. What's more? The axe's head started glowing green, and shattered!

It was madness! Where did this runt get such power?! Astaroth only had a moment to contemplate this before the rest of his axe and his gauntlets followed the lead of the axehead and exploded into shards as well, digging into his flesh like the shrapnel of a nail bomb. Solana and Selena made their escape in the confusion.

To this day, if you ask either sister what happened that day, they wouldn't know. Solana- now known as Sunny- would say that as she was ranting to Astaroth that he would never hurt her sister again, something just came over her.

Selena- now Midnight, meanwhile, was focused more on her sister than what was happening. It was that day that she realized something about her feelings for Sunny. Something Midnight is to this day too afraid- and moreover, ashamed- to share with her...

Also, in case you haven't noticed, yes; Sunny and Midnight's orange and purple hair isn't natural. Sunny had their hair dyed during her "awake time" when they made it topside. Their natural hair color is chestnut brown.
