On one of my excursions through the badlands on "roads" few people will travel, this cloud began rising over the mountains. And it just kept growing. It was beautiful to watch. You wouldn't think those "hills" at the base of it are a mountain range reaching over 13,000 feet in elevation. Once the sun set, you could see the lightning flashing in the cloud even though it was so far away. But with the setting sun highlighting it like it was, it made for some beautiful pictures. This one is probably the best from that night.

This wasn't taken in Badlands National Park, but it was Badlands none the less. The Landscape of the badlands is indeed beautiful, especially if you get off the main roads and take your time to see the sights.
Thanks. As I said this is probably my best one from that night. And I didn't get caught in the storm, it moved in the opposite direction from me, heading east.
