I was just trying out small lines. Then I also tried to do shading on one layer going from dark to light, rather than the other way (how I usually do it). It didn't turn out well imo, but oh well.

btw, would anyone be interested in seeing the most notable of my gryphon characters? I have a bunch from the third book of my trilogy that I'm writing, and don't mind sharing them all if anyone would actually look at them.
