Indulgent TF 21 - The Fluffiest Ambush
Part 2 of the update!
Strive makes a visit to Kestrel's grocery... store? It's quickly turning into a grocery palace, but the donuts are nice.
Plans for battle are made, and it's up to you(yes you) to vote on how to attack.
Kestrel art is still Twokinds.
Note that the style of TF was determined in a previous vote: The plant traps are fixed, while the others are a mixture of Karma, Opposite Day, and Like Children. Debilitate and confuse, leaving them captureable but unable to fight. Votes!
* Strategy: Total Capture(or Destruction), Rout, Force Surrender, or Harass/Hinder.
* Wardmages: Where will Dawn be going, versus her lesser counterpart from Kestrel?
* Production: Allocate 6 points among the menu given.
* Kestrel Focus: Fireworks(Debuffing, Debilitating, or Transformative), Battlemages, or Earth-Shattering Kaboom.
* Reinforcements: No, Rally Townsfolk, Hire Rapture, or Summon Diaspora

I don't have much to say anymore, except for my votes. And a music track.
Strategy: Rout. Relatively low-risk, and if the escapees cause trouble they should be relatively easy to deal with.
Wardmages: Defend the Tree. I want to take no chances where the Tree of Life is concerned; if what Kestrel said is correct, the Spartans will try to prioritize taking it out by any means, and I doubt those tubes Strive cursed are their ONLY heavy weaponry.
Production:
- 1 point to reinforce the wall. It does need to be reinforced, but if Dawn's protection goes well, one point will be enough.
- 3 points to make mines. We need 5-7 mines total; six mines should cover it.
- 1 point for Farmhouse stealth. Martin may need the extra help.
- 1 point to hide rocks. Besides blunting vehicles, it'll help to steer the enemy onto the mines.
Kestrel Focus: Fireworks - Debuffing. Any sort of transformation will demoralize the Spartans; we don't need to invest in much more.
Reinforcements: Rally Townsfolk. Straightforward; effective; doesn't open bigger cans of worms. If the Spartans do lash back, they'll just accumulate even more bad press (and bad karma).

Gonna echo Sonic's with two changes:
- Let's Hire Rapture. If it's spells they're after, we can almost certainly help them with that. It also opens up opportunities to collaborate with their faction in the future.
- Swap out Wall reinforcement for more rocks if needed. I want to be sure the mines we lay hit. A poorly-reinforced wall still makes for decent cover. Ignore this change if one batch of rocks is enough to guide vehicles into the mines we have.

Strategy: Rout/Force surrender. It would be better to make sure more are dealt with, but ensuring the base survives comes first.
Wards: Defend the Tree. If they have artillery, we're gonna need the better shield.
Production: 1 Point to Wall: Without a Wall, we can be rushed or shot from range
1 to rocks: Will also help in the long term for our goals anyway, and the vehicles are our main threat anyway
1 to stealth. A bad ambush is a liability. A good one could win the battle.
1 to Transformation Pistol. Again, good for the future, and means we can be more proactive
2 to mines: more mines means less problems.
Kestrel Focus: Fireworks: Debilitating. We need enough power for them to cause more than superficial effects, but once they do, thats gonna crack morale
Reinforcements: Mildly Rally Townsfolk. We do want to get their opinion on our side, but it is also a point of pride if we can show we're powerful enough to fully defend ourselves. That at least will help deter future attackers.

“That’s good. We kinda have trouble getting away from our base.” Strive closed his eyes,
reminding himself of how Dawn had looked when she got into the backseat of Leon’s old car.
Suffice it to say, automobiles were not meant for equines.
We really should remedy that at some point. Transportation is going to become essential sooner or later; we can't always work from home. I know humans have vehicles specifically for transporting animals; if only we could get one or two of those...

It's non-human passengers that need to be accommodated, not non-human drivers. We can pick out a few relatively humanoid members (such as our resident catgirl) to be our "designated drivers", but we need to figure out how to transport any other arbitrary member.
Besides, retrofitting a vehicle for an animal driver would probably be difficult to say the least, and a living car would have its own set of problems.

cervelet has done many things on car seats and accessibility. This one's feral/taur capable: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/15288787/
Depends on the feral. Dawn has telekinesis. Bears would have hands. I'd need to find a good Pony-Keyboard example, for how to use hooves as a direction designator.
The general keyboard idea is that you have two short/wide analog stick style things for each hoof, with a ring of letters around each one. Push in the direction that types the letter you want.
For steering, it would be similar but mounted into the floor or the dash of the car. Hoof goes in hoof-shaped socket, turns skateboard-shaped thing at like... 60 degrees each way?
I'd look up handicapped car controls for ideas.

Plausible, but even so, such technology would take time to develop and manufacture. There's no way it would already exist, considering this whole TF thing started less than a week ago in-universe.
I mean, if we had some sort of magical car that automatically adapts itself to anyone who gets into it, it'd solve a few problems... but there'd still be the issues of learning to drive and getting a driver's license and all that fun stuff. I don't think a furry apocalypse invalidates traffic laws. (And on the off chance that said magical car is capable of driving itself, I doubt the cops would believe that blindly, and even if they did they'd probably ask for the car's license.)
