Caliosidhe, having fun at the beach with the incredibly-rare Beach Ninja Clan - a variety of crab seldom seen by mortal men.
The red crab is a regular sand crab, slightly sunburned.
Collaborative effort here: I drew & inked the image;
indigoangelcat rocked her awesome watercolor magic to make it colory.
Caliosidhe is ©
caliosidhe. She is great and fun and practically a ninja herself IRL, so naturally she'd be able to find the Beach Ninjas and rally them around a sandcastle for a round of capture-the-Fanta-flag fun. :D
Also she gave me a superkeen badge at Anthrocon. :D

Thanks! :3
This is on Mead's Adacemie sketch paper. It's lighter-weight and more lightly-textured than watercolor paper, but it takes watercolors well, resists curling, and is easier to flatten when it does curl. (The paper is probably made for pastels/charcoals, but I don't have any of those, and it's more textured than I prefer my marker-paper to be, so I'm experimenting. :3 )

Okay, CLEARLY I need to learn to spell. (Or perhaps this is my brain's way of subtly hinting we need food....) It's Mead's ACADEMIE paper.
Anyways, I like it. My mother had a few pads of it in amongst her art supplies when she retired, so between it and my ancient 8-color Crayola Watercolors set, I'm free to dabble. (Which....is tending to mean a LOT of the nicer scribbles on this paper are being lobbed at Indigo, who has nice watercolors and knows what she's doing. ^_^;)
