This is all too palpable: bored alone, miserable in company. Last few social gatherings I was initially excited to attend till I find myself standing around awkwardly counting down till I can respectfully leave. Invariably someone less inhibited will try to strike up a conversation with me and for a brief moment I feel excited to discuss some aspect of my life till that person gets drawn away by someone louder, more assertive, and evidently more interesting than me. But just like that 4th panel, ya still gotta go, get yourself out there, put on a smile and give it one more try.
