Rubi is a Puer drone subtype of the Viispaa species; I can link a doc later with Puer specifics but essentially they are a specially designed ungendered micro Viispaa that are used as child-friendly nannies and protectors. They cannot breed, and therefore have no hormonal drives, but can operate on cognitive levels akin to a human adult while being the size of a child, allowing them to integrate with play groups and follow children into the nooks and crannies adults often can’t follow, while also being extraordinarily hardy.

Puer are created from Zinnias, a modified variation of female Viispaa that are prized for their ability to create Puer drones. They have higher pigmentation genes, allowing colorful or custom bred drones in exchange for the speed and tenacity standard Viispaa possess. Puer are prized as the safest and most qualified companion one could ask for for their children and the Puer are protected by their associations from abuse at the hands of their contracted employers.

The popularity of the Puer design plan eventually led to another Viispaa variant several decades after their successful debut.
