I know all of you guys are watching me for rock and metal, but I thought I might upload some of the electro/non-metal music I've been working on the past couple of years. I love more music than just rock you know! :}
This is my attempt at some DnB that took me quite a while to finish up. It will probably be released on an album I'm taking a step away from my usual chiptune/chipbreak-ish sounds.

The bass hits are definitely true kicks to the head. I hope the perceived mute effect before each bass hit was intentional, because it really makes me really able to get into the music, I would however scale back. The sharp hits are used to their greatest effect when they are not so predictable. They become more interesting when the loud hits are less common, and I don't think the song would sound any less intense. Keeping the same amount of bass in there or even scaling that up could be interesting, but I think the aggressive bass kicks are a hair overused. 7/10 in my books, this song does good thing.

The "mute effect" you are hearing with the bass hits comes with the compression - you'll hear it in a lot of like dance/electro music. Yeah, it was intentional haha but I'm still practicing working it so hopefully I can get it a little better!
