One of my assignments for my History of Graphic Design class was to "redesign a modern's day art with an art style of one of the European Vanguards", and I got Surrealism. I originally planned to do a Beastars cover, but it didn't come out as the teacher was asking for, so I went for PokéSpe instead.

I originally made the sketch on paper, then digitalized it, colored on MS Paint and added details. I think I got a B grade for it.

I've made this a month or so ago, but just today I decided to post it. Mostly because I had problems with the image being compressed. Turns out, when you draw over a downloaded image and don't make a copy to save as a separate file, the quality suffers. This was only the case with Red, as Pika was made the day after (when I realized my mistake), which is why he is a slightly better quality than the rest of the drawing :P

We now have a brand new assignment which is basically the opposite of the previous one: We have to redesign an art piece of old in a post-Modernist style. I'll definitely have to do good on this one, because it will compensate for my latest test score for the subject (which was a D. You need at least a C to pass). After I'm done with it, I'll post it here as well.
