Species: Pterodactylus Kochi
Location: Bavaria, Germany
Period: Lat Jurassic (aprox. 150 million years ago)
I had the privilege of going to a Gem, Mineral, and Fossil show this weekend, and found quite a few fascinating specimens. Spoke with several archeologists, paleontologists, and over all fellow dinosaur enthusiasts. This specimen came home with me, believe it or not. And while it is a replica (I cannot afford the real deal) it is directly cast from the original fossil.
He's not very big, maybe about the size of a robin, or blue jay. And yes, that's the actual size of these pterosaurs, this is a fully grown male. I call him Eustace. I love him very much, and he is hanging on my wall in the dino corner.
