I read somewhere recently that Bowser and the kids might have their own place somewhere outside Bowser's Keep, seeing as it's full of traps and tricks and all. Plus, all the lava, which isn't really the best building agent...UNLESS, unless, they somehow learned how to build using magma as a kind of mortar. But that's by the bypass. Point is, Bowser's multitude of castles are almost always destroyed, so he must know how to rebuild them relatively quickly.
