(I'll admit I was kind of thinking of the old 'In Soviet Russia' jokes with the title, but couldn't quite make it work...)
Anyhow, managed to win another quick sketch from
nicnak044 recently, and decided to go with something a little on the sillier side this time. So here we have Mercedes the kitsune P.I., along with Svetlana the Russian werewolf. While Svetlana hasn't had any speaking lines yet, in my head she's very much the old 'big and boisterous' Russian (and particularly Cossack) stereotype: work hard, play hard, give people hugs that have a non-zero chance of cracking ribs. Actually she tends to flip betwen 'boisterous' and 'sullen', and she had been 'sullen' a lot before the story because she didn't have many friends around.
So here Svetlana is showing her appreciation to Mercedes after being rescued in Mercredi des Cendres, and Mercedes kind of going 'that's nice, could you put me down now?' Mercedes is definitely not as much of a touchy-feely person as Svetlana can be when she's in her 'on' moods.
Partially inspired by an off-ended comment I made after the above story mentioning 'very huggy werewolf'.

*chuckles* Not that Mercedes would have too much luck making her stop... she has some telekinesis ability, but she can't actually lift or move objects much heavier than what she could carry by hand anyway, and she has to be able to see what she's moving. Convincing Svetlana to let her go has better odds of success.

Granted, it's like a pair of friends of mine, one of whom was from Newfoundland and liked the house temperature set to about 16C/61F, and the other from Toronto and preferred the temperature more around 22C/72F. They roomed together once. They decided that for the sake of their friendship, they would never share a house again.
