While in the middle of a dream, I was wandering around some mostly dark woods, hearing drips of water and occasional bleats in the distance while also desperately trying to find some light; the darkness itself doesn't really scare me, but rather the uncertainty of what could be within it, which is especially a problem in some past nightmares of mine. Luckily, this time, I stumbled upon a campfire and was surprisingly greeted by an adorable and fashionably outfitted fellow who was playing some sort of a wooden instrument; it was kind of like a lute, but I can't remember the details very well. Although there was some awkward tension for a short bit due to us not knowing each other's language, that soon passed as we both started humming to the pleasant tunes that my new friend performed.
I never got the owl-deer's name, nor did I figure out what happened to one of their antlers, but the glow in their eyes suggested that much of the woods and some nearby buildings were purposely left nocturnal for these creatures; I suppose the campfire just felt calming to them. The clothes they had were super lovely and creative too; I can only imagine what intricate story some of its patterns must tell. We continued to sit around, enjoying one another's company, until I eventually heard some weird noises and was woken up by the light outside my apartment.
This incredibly atmospheric and lovely fanart was drawn for me as a gift from The Stickman, an amazingly talented friend whose other artwork and blogs should absolutely be checked out when you can! Please leave comments for him as well; he deserves more watchers and is extremely friendly too. As for what exactly this specific fanart is based on, I can't exactly say for spoilers reasons, but if you're in the know, then you know.
