What matters most is that they got love at a young age, you know I recover wolves, and that they are of all of Mother's creatures, the most family oriented animal she has ever graced us with. Wolves need love and I am glad that they got it from you while they were so young. Thank you for that. My three are old now, I lost my Darwin in Dec. of '09 and will most likely lose another this winter if not two. But the memories of puppy kisses will last until Mother decides to take me home too. Cute picture, I hope that it finds you happy and well.
I think the best memory of puppy kisses was when I recovered a wolf pup back in the late 80's, she was about 9 weeks old and had been already abused. I took care of her for about 3 months, nursed her back and the vet finally found a private zoo/reserve for her. I was not told the name of that place as thats the way the vet worked with me, I recovered and cared for and she found perm. homes for them, I was just a "dad" for a little while.
4 years later, I had the chance to visit that private reserve just by fluke and let me tell you it was the greatest feeling to get pounced on by a now very happy and sassie female wolf who pinned me to the ground and laid on top of me kissing me like crazy. It was only then that they told me who she was. Best gift a "dad" could have ever gotten. I will miss them when I no longer do this when I get too old. (happens when your a grey muzzle.)
