Not a villain at all. I would be only glad if, in case of apparent threat, somepony would cease panic, take control over the situation, mobilize people and organize defense, including a God-bless tank. And it happened in spite of him being first shown as a coward (always hiding behind Hitch's back), so it is actually a magnificent character progression, I think. He may be a bad associate, but he is a good leader.

The only error was in pushing his strategic advantages and wishing to commit aggression once he knew nopony is going to attack. But as a sheriff, Sprout did fairly well.

I love how he looks in your artistic style! Lean and expressive, sharp: it all suits him marvelously!

The problem is that in the cartoon he was made a child in the body of an adult at the end, for the benefit of the children's audience.

Well, it is not that unrealistic. I know some people who act childishly with their parents, while they are adults and their parents are old respectively. With everybody else they are normal. Therefore, I personally do not find this "Was I a good sheriff, mommy?" as a character downgrading or inconsistent structuring, to me it is quite possible, balanced, and it works. I believe he could have asked his mother to tell her thoughts this way. It was childish, but it was in character the writers had given him.

With your parents, you can behave as you like, a person with different people behaves accordingly in different ways.. I can discuss this for a long time, but I didn't really like this character. ^^"
I just want to say: - I've seen a better villain in a children's cartoon. Look at the same: UglyDolls or Hercules)

I see, it is fine. It does not cancel the fact you made quite gorgeous portraits of him. ^^

To each their own. I love different villains, including the Sprout's comedic anti-hero-like archetype, and of course, he may not be considered the best at all. Hades and many other characters have different sets of characteristics, and many of them are more complex and enjoyable. It is a very arguable title to begin with, the best villain (not to mention I cannot call Sprout a villain at all. I do not see his actions as antagonistic). You might have your favorite villain from a fandom, and another person will have their favorite one from a fandom, which might have all or none connections with that of your villain. You know how it works, we understand one another, I believe.
