Ordered these along with the saddle bags from the Pennsylvania military surplus warehouse. Unlined, tough rubber soles and leather throughout. These will clean up nicely. I'll use them for costume/living history events.

Really nice! It's good you got the officers boots. The average enlisted boots were made of rather subpar materials, and are known to have the soles come off due to bad adhesives. I remember finding a pair of enlisted East German boots at a yardsale once for $5, but unfortunately they were two sizes too small.
Atleast you could get some money back. For work I wore some 1996 US black jungle boots for three years until the direct molded sole came off. I've been wearing 1997 US desert boots for the past year and a half now though. I have a couple pair of Soviet and early Ukrainian boots, but I don't wear them for work. I keep those rather nice.
