Comment on myself: So, yeah, I downloaded a program called GIMP onto my computer and allows me to make better quality images like I did doing what I used to do, which involved a lot of unnecessary file transfer processes. Not anymore! New image of my infamous Squell character done using prismacolors and modified in GIMP.
Legend of Foxfall lore: No one really knew the true origin of the one who would be called Lord Squell, ruler of the forest of Rodentia. Many years ago, Rodentia was ruled by a kind and just ruler named Lord Elkin. One day, a damaging storm ravaged the central plains of the world, forcing many creatures to flee their homes out there. Some of these refugees ended up in Rodentia. Among them, was a young squirrel who called himself Squell. Tales were told of how Squell helped in rescuing many of the refugees from terrible disaster while the storm destroyed their homes. Lord Elkin could sense a strange aura from the squirrel and believed that this young squirrel had potential to rule his forest, as he was aging in his days and felt he would not last for too many more years as magistrate. Elkin took the boy and begin to teach him of Rodentia's ways and the rites he would face. Squell listened, but often seemed not to care about what was told to him. It was Shade Pathagerus, Elkin's personal bodyguard, who first took notice of the squirrel's uninterest in what Elkin was teaching him and began to suspect the young squirrel's motives. When Squell reached 20 years of age, Elkin fell deathly ill and soon afterwards passed on the role of magistrate to Squell, who had successfully passed the rites. Squell was now renamed 'Lord Squell' as custom dictates that all magistrates are to be addressed formally. Shade suspected foul play in Elkin's death however and resigned from his post, secretly devoting himself into finding out more of the enigmatic foreigner who in a short amount of time turned Rodentia into a militaristic land. In a few short years, Rodentia had changed. Lord Squell seemed to be creating a small army, its purpose unknown. Many sporatic incidents had occurred, such as kidnappings and other isolated occurances that caused Shade to create a small underground rebellious movement to oust Squell from power. One day, word reached Shade that an infant vixen was kidnapped from her home, her parents murdered. Evidence uncovered revealed that is was Lord Squell himself responsible for it. Shade and his handful of rebels blindly and full of rage attacked Lord Squell's domain. While Shade's men clashed with Rodentian soldiers, he, himself, burst into Squell's chambers and found him performing some sort of strange ritual on the poor infant vixen. This led to a dangerous duel between the two creatures. Sword clashed against sword until finally both of them became stuck in a dangerous weaponlock. Unexpectedly, the weaponlock broke, causing both warriors to scar each other's right eye. Enraged, Squell attacked Shade blindly. Unfortunately, his weapon met with the magical barrier that he had placed around the infant, shocking him with arcane energy that rendered him unconscious. Shade seized the infant and ran, because the danger became clear: a magistrate is bound to his or her forest symbiotically, meaning whatever happens to the magistrate, the forest will reflect in turn. With Squell unconscious, Rodentia itself began to close and trap all within its borders. Shade barely escaped with the baby vixen in his arms. With Rodentia closed, Shade fled to Foxfall. It would be 15 years before Lord Squell would regain consciousness and only one word crossed his mind when he awoke: Shade. This would be the beginning of Prelude of Sorrow, the first story of the Trilogy of Sorrow.
