So went out to test the axe today while I was out and I found a nice shaped branch from a tree that was recently felled from the wind and got to work.
The axe performed extremely well! Cut the branch off from the base and broke it down to the handle in about an hours work. The blade and axe held up fine to all the work and it was sharp enough to shave the bark after the basic forming was done.
So a desk with an axe like this I feel would do just fine.
Not sure what to do with my new tool handle though I might construct an adze head to put onto it. It still has more precise work that I will need to do to it in the meantime.
But yeah the hatchet works exceptionally well! And hopefully I can make a fine adze with this handle.

Noticed you replaced the cord on the axe head with something finer, awesome to hear the bronze axe is a usable/workable tool that can be built easily.
Only issue I have...... WERE ARE YE BOOTS! D:< put some protection on Ye feet please if your going out into woods!
Secondly, I’m pondering if you can turn that new handle into an Altlatal.

Oh yeah I wanted a wrap that was tighter and more secure, once I get some sinew I’ll replace it again but the leather cord wrap works great! The copper axe works great!
Also what! I wear steel toed boots one of them is in the picture that boot is steel toed trust me I like my feet In one piece.
I might but for now I want to make an adze and I think it’s the perfect shape for that. It’s rare to find a branch with an almost right angle, the atlatl might come later
