Made on the free version of Inkarnate! My first time making one so hopefully it works.
The map of the main story for SS/FL. Not the only continent - as can be inferred from its name - but currently the focus of most of the campaigns and story as it is now. Future information shall be coming about each location but an overview is always helpful! Next shall be the species that inhabit these places as well as specific info about each location.
The thin black lines are used to denote borders but these are often loosely defined even to those living in these locations.
* General world creation myth; Each location often has variants of this, except the Flatlands which never got a big important figure they saw at least.
The five had completed the course.
At differing amounts of power and interest - but all had completed it.
Auro, the holder of the greatest intelligence. Believing that individual knowledge and ability was the show of power.
Lindlea, friend of all students. Believing that those you surrounded yourself with and could call upon granted you influence.
Solatic, believer in the system and their mentor. Believing that the belief in those above himself granted you conviction.
Kassandi, who wished to use the knowledge gained to help more than her. Believing that the world around was always greater than the one.
And the forgotten, who despite the memory of time and the others - always kept up. It us unknown what they believed - but they always made it in the end.
With success in their hands and power granted they descended onto the continent. Unsure if they would ever be reviewed but eager to show their mastery.
Auro had moved first after graduation. And moved to the water logged wetlands of the west. Confident in his new found power and skill to forge what seemed to be a poor choice into the best of the bunch. And the massive spread of his wings that roared fire across the small settlements he deemed a necessary step in his plan. More would come once he formed the land to his desire.
Lindlea who had been the most popular had deferred her choice of location on the new continent to the remaining three. Confident that the others - friends all - would give her a prime location. But her belief in the others resulted in her receiving only scraps.
Solatic had winged to the southern mountains and peaks. Hoping that his elevated location would keep him in close connection to The Mentor. If not to directly appraise and grade his work he was eager to not give up the advice of one higher than he. And from the peaks he began to build downward. Protection and hope lowering down the mountain. Beak and Talon forming stone to lead others to the summit.
Kassandi watched as Auro tore across the wetlands with beating wings and breath of fire and ran for the central forest. Leaving Lindlea without an explanation as she hurried to save what she could. Having trained with Auro she knew his ambition often outstretched his control. Holding the western edge of the forest to keep Auros flames back. But the ashes still fell. And wounded with cracked horns she returned to the forest's heart. And collapsed. Giving what she had left to the earth and the forest. To protect and keep it pure while also birthing the essence and spirits of the land.
As Lindlea watched them all leave her behind she looked back, to see The Forgotten had already landed on the eastern Flatlands. Near the central mountain pass. And started to dig. They seemed to have some plan. But left the others out of it.
Leaving Lindlea with the northern Badlands. Where alone and dejected she planted herself. Her efforts to befriend the others had resulted in nothing but being alone. It left her empty. And so she started to walk around the scarred and sick land. Limbs growing gaunt and dry as she started to find new friends. Bringing them back to her from their resting place. To fill the hole left by the others.
As such the five shaped the land to their own skills and desires. Settlements and myths growing around them as time passed. Teaching those that flocked to progress, safety, and their morality. Their knowledge. Their skills. Some were welcomed and some pushed away. So as the sections evolved their began to have more and more of a regional identity and populace. Each with a set of skills to assist in their chosen location. But could they stay separate forever? Could one eventually stand the test of time and come out superior than the others? Or would they all need to offer aid to each other - should time call for it?

The Forgotten - Quiet kid in the back
The Mentor - a being only really talked about by Solatic and a footnote if anything to Auro has always been an enigmatic figure. With Solatic forbidding depictions of them directly. Rather it is instead shown as light from behind a cloud. As that is where he and the others came from to do their work.
Of the five students only two are fully known to still be alive, Auro and Solatic, but only one is known to be dead dead. That being Kassandi. The Tribes in the forest still commune with 'her' but it is only and echo of her personality as she melded her spirit and experience with the forest's heart. This changed the forest dramatically to a rather normal forest with small wildlife and normal plants to a place full of spiritual energy. Often manifesting in small elemental pods of fire, water, air, and earth. These tend to float about and experiment with their surroundings and often prank travelers who are not the forest dwellers themselves. They have been compared to young mischievous children. Which is better than Elder Elementals who are several who have joined forces and tend to wreck havoc rather than have fun. There is still wildlife but not as much as a forest on Earth for example would have and they tend to be much larger as well.
The other two, Lindlea and The Forgotten, are a bit more contentious. Solatic has often gone to try and find both of them but each time was unsuccessful. Auro could not care less. Solatic still feels Lindleas' old happiness and friendly demeanor faintly as he flys over the badlands but with how 'evil' the place is now he can never understand how it remains. Yet the Insects keep flocking to it. Perhaps they feel it too and are drawn to its subtle warmth. Especially after they have been cast aside by so many others. Solatic has considered this but quickly tossed it from his mind. Not wanting to believe that through his rhetoric he is helping the Badlands grow. The Forgotten however, true to their name, has almost been forgotten by even Solatic. Once they went to ground under the mountain pass they almost vanished from the world entirely. And the few Mole expeditions that Auro has sponsored has never once found anything directly tied to them.
However.
The Uniters equipment was found underground. And once Solatic finally got a piece of it in his talons he found it far more advanced than anything either he or Auro could make...So they are still down there. Somewhere. At least that's the going theory.
Language:
There were regional languages for the few that existed on the continent before the students brought in immigrants from different places but no-one speaks it anymore. And only a few records of them still exist. Instead the Students, who all spoke the same language, in time converted everyone to the same language they knew. And the new arrivals had to learn it too. Each place would have its on little dialogue quirks or slang but on the whole everyone speaks the same language. Rather it is more important to know cultural customs and taboos to not make an enemy of someone the first time you see someone.
