Riding hood's shadow 15
Maria promptly planted the smaller potatoes she had collected into the tilled dirt and covered them up before giving them some water. With this finished now she made her way down the path to the water, carrying her bucket in the crook of her arm since her hands were still sore.
Once there she got to work on refining her fish trap. Collecting an arm full of thin branches and setting them up as a wall in the water, weaving them together as placed more in order to make the wall more dense. To help trap fish into a smaller area to try and catch again.
Once she was satisfied with her work she took a break and let the fish return to the area after being scared away. She also grabbed a branch with a wide end so was broom shaped to try sweeping the fish into a corner to try and catch. Again this process was more or less just hit or miss, but was able to catch 3 small fish. She put them in the empty bucket to carry back.
Once back to the cabin it was mid afternoon and she started on making her meal. Using two of the fish and one of the potatoes she had collected she made more of a fish soup than a broth this time. As well as cooking over the fire the third fish and would have that on the side with her meal. Once it was all complete she had a bowl of the soup and half the cooked fish, giving herself a pleasantly full meal. Her first in a few days now. She'd save the other half of the cooked fish and more of the soup later for her dinner
Once she was finished she refilled her bowl with more soup and went outside with it. Walking to the edge of the clearing around the cabin she placed it down. If that creature was still around she hoped this might be a better thank you for helping her with the garden. She then made her way back to the water to soak her hands a bit before it started getting dark.
