So this commission was a bit different, the buyer wanted to make a character from scratch. He knew he wanted a western dragon but had no prior images or reference sheet of the character. So we started the process of making one from scratch. It took a lot of back and forth between the buyer and myself, sharing different anatomy choices, as well as sketching a few examples to see different looks. Since it was being made from scratch I wanted it to feel at home.
After a lot of back and forth and constant double checking of the design, we finally settled on this design.
Although surprise surprise, I was caught off guard when I finished. Finds out I was actually designing their fursona. That made my day an I had no idea that would happen, I just assumed I was designing a character from the start, turned out to be more. All of that back and forth was worth it.
So finally Ember the Dragon was born, the person said fursona belongs to is hunter14098749 (Ember The Dragon) on Twitter
