Harmony II: Trimeresurus insularis
Trying to find a balance between traditional art and other things, so I decided to pick this project back up.
Despite what the countless photoshopped Google image results suggest, truly blue snakes are rare. And of the few that do exist, this isolated population of Trimeresurus insularis, the Sunda Island pit viper, is by far one of the most striking.
What's the rarest or most unusual animal you've ever seen?

I mean, there are other reasons for colors to happen, hahah. Most likely some flukes were born that lacked yellow pigment, turning the green to blue, and since it's an island the population became isolated and continued passing on that gene. Interestingly enough there's another population of the same species on another island that's bright yellow, so the opposite must have happened and they lost blue pigment.
I'm like 60% sure you were just making a joke but I'm a nerd so I must answer genuinely LOL
And no they do not fly :V

Oh, rarest animal? I saw one of those caterpillars that looks like poop once! :) And a north american mantis that was a wasp mimic... but I guess I don't know which animal in all of life is the most rare! We also saw a ton of neat stuff down in Costa Rica but man there are just so many animals out there; hard to say what the rarest was!
Lucky enough to see a yellow viper like this one in person too, as well as a glass frog and some other neat wild poison dart frogs and things.... anyways. What's the rarest one YOU'VE seen? :)
