That ending'll really get to ya!
Visual Description:
Gyro's big, green, little-winged yoshi and Nishi hugging together a little tearful with some crayon-textured shading on them, with the background all rainbowy, with the super happy tree and a full flower meter in the distance behind them.

Yay! You just can't go wrong with sharing a touching moment with a very close friend. The music that plays for the ending of Yoshi's Story is also very sweet.
***
There are a few games that have impacted me in my younger years to say, "I wonder how I'll feel when I'm older?". These being 'Mega man 2' with the Wood Man stage music really making me, at Age 9, feeling something about the game and what I'll feel like when I'm older.
Yoshi's Story came out right after I turned 18 and, upon listening to the ending music, particularly when the book closes and music box plays, I got a similar vibe of how I would feel later in my life.
I don't know why these, and very few others, did what they did to make my younger self think about my older self. What I do know is that, when I hear the music, I can almost put myself back in those moments that made these games so endearing to me.

Aww haha that's interesting! Sometimes there are things like that and we wonder how we'll feel about it in the future or if we'll like it that much. It's a neat, small, specific thought that can come up! It's definitely cool noticing things like Yoshi's Story's ending still hitting hard as an adult, maybe even harder! As a kid I know it was cute and sweet and the songs were night but, playing it then it's so amazing how much personality they had. Nintendo 64 did this a few times, with Mario Kart and Mario 64, despite being fun simple games, having these super touching ending songs that made it all sound so much deeper, and a bit sad that it was all over.
Oh! "Mario Kart 64" did have some really endearing qualities to it.
One example is what would happen if you took 4th place at the end of a cup. You really felt for placing just shy of earning a trophy as your character looked down over the hill prior to driving away. You then get a little insult to injury as a Bomb Kart pursues you, blows you up, and you see your character's 'pouty face' appear on the screen as the game tells you something like "Better luck next time.".
Another thing, which I was sad they took out when it was redone, was how you could drive the exact route for the award ceremonies by taking a right turn shortly after the big jump in 'Royal Raceway'. It would definitely make you lose position in the race, but it was worth it to do and say, "Kazootles! You really can explore beyond the track!". :)
