You honestly didn't think I would Get rid of this bastard did you? Hector in this AU is an oil tycoon and self described robber baron. Im still working out the details of all the things he's got his fingers in and where he fits in the Gloryverse but needless to say this time around he's getting the proper villain treatment.

Hmm. Not used to werewolves being the more sleazy, underhanded types, but... yeah, I could see it. From what I've heard from friends, wolves and humans aren't too different in their psychology. So a werewolf robber baron type probably isn't too much of a stretch.
It just offends the werewolf fan in me, who wants them to be the good guys for once. =P For whatever reason, they just don't seem to get treated very well even in media where the transformation part isn't hideously expensive to portray.
(And the less said about that Alpha/Omega stuff, the better! Ye gods, people can be such idiots...)

"Good guys for once" SIR THEY ARE THE GOOD GUYS IN EVERY OTHER THING I PRODUCE :C
they were also:
The good Guys in: Van Helsing.
The protagonists friend and co-star in "Wilde Life"
Good and bad guys in: American werewolf in paris
Good and bad guys in :How to be a werewolf.
MOSTLY good guys in : Peter is the wolf. (being a bad werewolf is usually subject to being KILLED in that one)
And several other examples esp in independant media.
It's not hard to find good examples of Werewolves being good if you try hard enough.

YES THIS IS A HILL I WILL DIE ON.
Rarely are werewolves 100% portrayed as murderous villains esp in RECENT media. I can and WILL bring Twilight into this too.
Literally the monster fucker Genre is built on Werewolves being at least on the lighter side of morally grey.
In a LOT of werewolf centric media there's the theme of "good werewolf v bad werewolf"
- Horror movies do not count because there are JUST as many if not more examples of vampires being just as bad in Horror. and considering this particular setting I'm working on plays on the Vampire/Werewolf Dynamic that is relevant -
Solidly outside of the Horror Genre we see a plethora of examples of Werewolves being at least morally grey or incidental good guys helping the hero on his quest.
There are good and bad examples of any monstrous creature, and if you've read anything I've produced you know I am very VERY pro-werewolf good guy.
Werewolves being bad in a setting is significantly new for ME. So kindly SHH.

You criticized an aspect of a world I was building based off of inaccurate information. In literally ALL of my work EXCEPT this one, Werewolves are protagonists and good guys. It read to me like "I never see good werewolves" when I have made several good werewolves. It's really irritating to see all of that be ignored because I chose to do something different with two characters I've had for 15 years. It hit my "berserk button" because you were making sweeping generalizations about media when it's clear you've not taken the time to actually find good examples of such both in the furry fandom and out of it. I've seen far more "good" examples of Werewolves than I have bad ones.
THAT is what bothered me. I chose to do something different, and all of my past efforts to make werewolves good guys is suddenly wholesale ignored. You can understand maybe as a creator that it's irritating when I get comments like this it means you don't really care/pay attention to my other work and only decide to say anything when it doesn't suit your personal tastes.

It was two words that did it: "robber baron". Granted, he may not mean it as anything but a joke, yet I've always come to understand those words as negative. It's usually not used by people except when they're talking about "evil capitalists", though the term itself may be misused or misunderstood by many. I don't really use it much myself, and I tend to think of it as more appropriate for those who care more about making money than whether they're providing quality goods and/or services. Rich men who let their greed get out of control and usually get mixed up in politics so that their "friends" can make things easier on them, and often harder on their competitors if they like.
I'm not sure how you use the term or how you see it. I've never known anyone to use it as anything but short-hand for "villain". Hence my assumption that Hector was one. That's pretty much the only reason I did.
As for complaining about werewolf characters in media, perhaps you're right. As much as I claim to be a fan of werewolves, I dunno if I've seen all that many movies, and haven't read many books. I was happy to watch a video on werewolf folklore recently and find out the whole "werewolves as monsters" thing was more of a Hollywood invention, and doesn't always hold true. Though now I'm curious if that trend is as prevalent as I thought... and even if it is, why would it happen mostly in Hollywood? (Probably a copycat effect, or just setting a precedent in film. Humans are like that, no?) In any case, I should look into finding and reading some decent fiction about werewolves. Failing that, I can just go write some myself.
Again, apologies for the misunderstanding. If you give me some suggestions for good werewolf stuff, I'll have a better idea of where to look. I'd search it myself, but I'm not sure I have the skills to narrow it down properly, so any help would be appreciated. =) I wish you well on creating more excellent art and stories.
