Jake and Waratah a slightly hand touch to reassure each other before then move out to look for a downed aircraft. Physical intimacy is only a way of affirming the connection a pair feel for each other. In times of stress and tribulations a slight gesture can have as much meaning as a full embrace.
Waratah is wearing her armour which is why she looks so big in this picture. A lot of her equipment was custom build but her friends in the "pit crew" so a lot of the parts are not painted or covered in camo.
