I think the fact that it is two teams is what gives the game such an edge over any newer games they've made. The struggles each team has teaches us over time to upkeep and value when the team spirit and competitiveness is healthy. Real competition is what makes it so exciting. Sometimes you tear down the existing to rebuild a better one.
