I threw together this map in SAI for my story that I've been writing, and thought I'd upload it here. It's rough and is really for my own use. In SAI each aspect is on its own layer: land mass edge, rivers and lakes, mountains, temperature zones, and political boundaries/names. I can toggle the layers on and off as needed.

I made this map by making a brief overlay of an Earth map. :) Good place to start, especially since I wanted something to help me remember scale.

On "deserts:" someone mentioned this, so I feel the need to say that I know deserts aren't always hot, and are more based on rainfall rather than temp. It was just a note for me. :)
