Here's a view from Mt. Cadillac looking toward the ocean. The fog is still covering everything, but you can see little islands poking up out of the mists. And in the foreground you can see more of that bare rock interspersed with brush that makes the island so distinctive, and Acadia so beautiful.

It is well worth it! I've been wanting to go back ever since but we've never had a chance. My heart yearns for the rocky shoals and the sea and the lighthouses and the pines and the rugged beauty that Maine offers. Just don't drive up I-95 into Maine on a Friday; worst traffic ever!
